First, you need to decide on the materials you’re using for your project. You can use clay, glass or plastic as the main material for your project; but only if you have them in abundance.
While clay is very easy to work with, it can be expensive and usually has a dull finish. Glass is not too difficult to work with and is inexpensive at most stores, but it may not look attractive when finished. Plastic is also inexpensive and popular among makers because it doesn’t have a dull finish – however, it won’t look as good overall as clay does. In addition, plastic will soon start to crack if it gets hot enough.
