How Does Telecom Standards Work in the World?

Standards are critical to creating and maintaining an open and competitive market for equipment manufacturers and ensuring national and international integration of data and communication technologies and processes.

Standards provide guidelines for manufacturers, retailers, government agencies, and other service providers to ensure the kind of communication required in today’s markets and international communications.

-System functionality.

-Frequency Spectrum.

-Compatibility with the existing network.

International Organization for Standardization (ISO). An international organization whose members come from committees to create various levels of government around the world.

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is an international federation of national standards bodies from more than 140 countries, one from each country.
