Naruto vs. Sasuke
This fight scene from Naruto: Shippuden was highly anticipated. Many fans have been waiting since reading the manga in the early 2000s. Luckily it was all worth it. The fight was incredibly intense from start to finish, with both characters giving it their all the entire time. There was also no background music during the majority of it, making it even more nail biting. From straight up punching to Naruto’s Tailed Beast Mode and Sasuke’s Susanoo transforming the landscape, the choreography and animation was incredible throughout.

Super Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann vs. Anti-Spirals
This mecha fight from Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann is unlike many others of the same genre. The fight is astonishingly immense, with characters even throwing galaxies at each other. A Giga Drill Break creates heaven. It’s just an overwhelmingly large scale that humans can’t fathom it. But it was still entertaining thanks to its colorful, vibrant, and hype action sequences.
Mob vs. Koyama
Mob Psycho 100 is so incredibly action-packed that one of its best fight scenes happened in the first season. This fight scene was more realistic and gritty than most in this list. The punches had viewers wincing in pain. The screams felt so real it gave them chills. The overall design of this fight was just incredibly done and immersed viewers within the gritty, chaotic action.
Ryuko vs. Satsuki
Ryuko and Satsuki fought many times in Kill la Kill but it was the first fight that left many speechless. Thanks to music by composer Hiroyuki Sawano, the battle was intense and emotional from the very first moment. The angles also added to the powerful moment, with an incredible attention to detail that went beyond just straight up back-and-forth fighting shots. The characters’ powers and weapons are showcased in a stunning way.
Saitama vs. Boros
This fight happened in the first season of One Punch Man — a fight so incredible that it launched One Punch Man into a global phenomenon for years to come. The fight showcased what makes the anime so special — Saitama looks completely unbothered as Boros details all the planets he has destroyed. While appearing unphased and bored, Saitama soon unleashed his incredible power. In fact, he didn’t even use his entire strength to defeat Boros. Saitama looks bored the entire time, making it an immensely comical moment as well.
No Name vs. Luo-Lang
This simple yet incredibly powerful scene from Sword of the Stranger doesn’t feature the over-the-top powers and moments from other anime series on this list. What sets it apart, however, is the intense, straight up sword fight between the two characters. There’s no flashbacks, no speeches, no wild power surges. It’s two characters sword fighting in a cold, snowy climate.
Asuka vs. Eva Series
The End of Evangelion has some incredible fight scenes throughout. The real reason it stands out to anime lovers is how emotional it makes viewers. Fans felt excited when Asuka finds the courage to fight back. They felt astonished at the total chaos that ensues as Asuka takes on Eva Series units. But they also felt fear when Asuka was up against the Spear of Longinus. This is thanks to the powerful episodes leading up to this incredible battle, with many recalling Asuka’s incredible character development and touching story. There’s also a ton of violence to keep you hooked on this amazing battle.
Eren vs. Armored Titan
This intense Attack on Titan scene is a standout of Season 2 thanks to what it reveals as well as the intense action. Eren and Reiner begin to fight, two larger than life titans that have immense power as well as an incredible amount of emotion behind their motivations. There’s a lot of interesting martial art techniques as well as a showing of just how durable and strong the titans are. This fight changes everything.
Netero vs. Meruem
Hunter x Hunter has a lot of momentous moments that have made it one of the most loved anime of all time. It features two iconic characters using their strengths to outwit and outmaneuver each other. Fans were astonished at Meruem’s fast thinking and analytical choices. Netero was forced to use Poor Man Rose, a last resort that had people clenching their jaws and fists. It’s an emotional fight that will never be forgotten.
